Photolisting Profile for Tessa
Tessa
Description
Tessa has had much rejection in her life thus far and has built somewhat of a wall around her as do most children who have survived abandonment and rejection. Tessa finds it difficult to trust and therefore bond with adults, though she appears to want this more than anything. Tessa's behaviors can be challenging in that they often come at the time when the adult may think things are going well. The adult(s) in Tessa's life will, at that point, have to remember Tessa's history and understand much of the behaviors are survival skills she had learned. Better for Tessa to do something to separate herself from the adult than have the adult simply reject her. Due to wanting to be loved and accepted, Tessa will, at times, does put herself in the position of being a "people pleaser".
Tessa does have a lot of positive qualities. She is very interested in basketball and art. She can be a very loving, caring, and enjoyable child to be around when she feels emotionally safe. Tessa is also respectful when she is shown encouragement and respect, and does not feel threatened by the other person in any way. Tessa needs to be surrounded by people who are happy in life and have a positive outlook on life and most things.
