Tolanda

Tolanda is a 16-year-old boy from Virginia who is hoping to be adopted.
The first thing you notice about Tolanda is his big, beautiful smile! He is a very outgoing African American teen who likes to be physically active. Some of his favorite outdoor activities are playing basketball and football, and in the summer he loves swimming. He also enjoys singing and entertaining people. Some of his quieter activities include building with magnetics and legos and enjoying board games – his favorite one is “Sorry”. Tolanda is generally well liked by his peers, although he sometimes finds it difficult to determine when it is play time and when it is time to be serious, especially in school. Tolanda has suffered several important losses in his life, and he will need to rely on his family for support in his struggle to overcome issues related to grief and loss. He can be impulsive, so his family must know how to provide a structured environment with set routines. He will benefit from being the only child in the home, receiving a lot of one-on-one attention. Even though the losses in his life have been significant, Tolanda looks forward to becoming part of a family again. With the unconditional commitment of a nurturing and patient family in his corner Tolanda can learn to put his past behind him and build a new and better future.
