Ton'nica is a 14-year-old girl from North Carolina who is hoping to be adopted.

Ton’nica describes herself as being fun, kind, and a good teacher. She is also extremely loyal, determined, and not afraid to express her opinion. Ton’nica is somewhat shy and would like to make more friends. She enjoys getting her hair and nails done and is “into” fashion and jewelry. Ton’nica likes to watch football and participating in cheerleading and stepping. She would like to become a kindergarten teacher. Ton’nica attends regular classes at school where she is consistently on the A/B Honor Roll. Twice a week a personal aide spends time with her in the community, working on personal goals at places like the gym and the library. Ton’nica continues to work on communication skills and personal relationships. Ton’nica has made great improvement in her attitude since becoming comfortable in her current home. She takes the iniative in completing her chores and tasks and her foster mom is proud of her progress. An adoptive family for Ton’nica will have to allow her the time to adjust and learn to trust and become comfortable with them for it to be a successful relationship. They will need to provide her with consistency, respect, stability, structure, and lots of love and attention. It is important that Ton’nica maintain connections with her siblings.
