Photolisting Profile for Se Hyung
Se Hyung is a 4-year-old boy from Asia who is hoping to be adopted.
This adorable little boy has been in the care of KSS since birth; he has been in foster care since May 2005, with a very experienced foster family. Se Hyung was born by c-section, and was initially treated for muconium stain and birth asphyxia; he received ventilator care at the hospital. An initial brain sonogram and hearing test were normal. During his initial hospitalization, he was diagnosed with acute hepatitis, renal failure, and possibly had some seizure activity. While his head circumference is now average for his age, there was some early concern about the fontanelles (formation of cranial bones in the skull). Se Hyung stabalized during his hospitalization, and was discharged on January 31st to KSS. Since these earlier diagnoses, Se Hyung has been making progress in all areas. He is growing/gaining weight and is eating and sleeping well. He is developmentally delayed and has some risk factors for future medical needs. Se Hyung is currently rolling over both ways, holding objects, and sitting with support. The most recent update for Se Hyung was completed in late July, and photos/additional information are available. Further developmental evaluations, a brain MRI and a hearing evaluation are pending. Additional information will be available soon. A substantial fee waiver is available for the family who adopts this special little boy. Families interested in Se Hyung should meet his country's guidelines, i.e. both parents under age 45 and no more than 4 children already in the home. This little boy would be the perfect addition to a family who can accept the risks/unknowns for his future development. Medical information and photos/updates are available, with additional information expected by late September 2004.Disclaimer
